FACE OF GOD
"We want to show people what we are made of"
Suiciderock: You have just finished your show here at the Green Room. How was it?
Benjamin: It was great fun! We played our longest show so far, so it was an new experience to us. The audience was one of the best we've had!
Suiciderock: The band exists since 2010. So you are still quite fresh out there. Please tell us something about you and the band?
Benjamin: We are a rock-trio from Helsinki wich consist of three young lads. We try to play as many gigs as we can. We're just trying to learn to play.
Suiciderock: What about your music? It`s energetic which also reflects in your live shows. Musical wise you have been compared to bands like Nirvana or the Foo Fighters. Those are big names. Would you agree?
Benjamin: It's an big honor to be compared to Foo Fighters and Nirvana, we are happy that our influences can be heard through our music.
Suiciderock: You are not only a quite young band you are also a quite “small” band considering that only 3 members playing in it.
Benjamin: Yes! Thats certainly a blessing, only three opinions and we get to share the free drinks three wise! :)
Suiciderock: What about your band name? Face of God sounds religious?
Benjamin: Hah! Cant imagine who would, as an religious person, name their band Face of God. So no I personally wouldn't say we are religious, not in a traditional way at least. It's just a great name! Leo can maby tell you the story behind it…
Suiciderock: There is also something special tonight as you could celebrate the premiere of your new video for “Paranormal Whorebomb”. Tell us something about the song and its clip.
Benjamin: We had really much fun during the shooting and that was actually our goal, to get it to transmit to the audience.
Suiciderock: Your debut record was done at the legendary Seawulf studios. Shortly before you wanted to start the recordings Leos dad past away. Despite that you headed to the studio to work on the EP. I`m sure this was a very difficult situation for the whole band. How could you deal with it and why didn`t you postpone the recordings?
Benjamin: Yes it was though, but in a way it helped us to make the EP even more personal. Leo changed some parts of the lyrics because of it and everybody was much more sentimental wich brought more depth and meaning to the songs.
Suiciderock: While checking your tour calendar I found out that you will go on tour this month. You will play some gigs all over Finland. What are your aims for 2012?
Benjamin: Play lots of shows and show people what we're made of.
