"Obscure Rock"

Suiciderock: Naughty Whisper" was born in June 2000 in Milan, Italy. Could you reveal the most relevant details about the band to start up with the interview?
Well we have done lot of things in the past 9 years. Lot of shows in Italy and around Europe (UK, Sweden, Finland, Croatia, Slovenia). We have played with bands like Faster Pussicat, Pretty Boy Floyd, Tigertailz, Wednesday 13; then 2 records., and now we are working on the next album.

Suiciderock: You will be touring in Scandinavia soon. This is your second tour in the Nordic countries. What brings a band from sunny Italy come to cold Scandinavia?
Simply cause Italy is the worst place to do rock. And we are not worried about cold...we are always sooo hot. *laughs*

Suiciderock: What are your expectations for this tour?
Lexxy: We just came back from Finland and the tour was great! We had few days off this time so we had all the time to take contact with persons into music business, fans and to visit Helsinki .

Suiciderock: PSG will support you while this tour. They are quite known in Finland. Are you looking forward or haven`t you heard form PSG so far?
Lexxy: We contacted Miika from PSG 2 years ago for our first finland tour and now we are very close friends that he managed this tour as well. PSG is a really good band and we miss them all...IT’S VODKA TIME!!!

Suiciderock: Let`s stay at the life-shows theme… What can people expect from your lifeshows?
Lexxy: First of all we are a rock band so we do our best on stage. If you wanna see a pure fucking rock show come to see us!

Suiciderock: Your last album “Psyco” was released back in 2007. You see “Psyco” as some kind of a "transition" album, as it sees the end to your 80's glam era and you said that it is the start of your new “Obscure Rock era". What do you think made you change your style?
Lexxy: It was a normal change. We started as glam band and we think we have done all the possible as glam act. It’s not easy to explain…Just before psycho we started to write songs more rock/goth/metal than glam, We said: what the fuck of sound it is? It’s not glam, but not so goth and not so metal, so we called our new style ‘obscure rock’.

Suiciderock: Currently you are focusing writing new songs for the next album. What will the new work be like?
Lexxy: As I said before we are moving into a more ‘obscure’ sounds, but still remaining as much rock’n’roll as we are… and I can say that could be really interesting… you have to listen!

Suiciderock: Can you reveal any stories from you time in the studio yet? Is there a title for the album yet?
Lexxy: We have recorded a 4 tracks promo few months ago but it took only few days so we don’t have interesting stories to tell. We are working on the new album now but we don’t have a title for it yet.

Suiciderock: What inspires you while writing a song?
Lexxy: It general our lyrics tell about personal experiens.

Suiciderock: Style is very important for many bands. Besides your music, how much do you pay attention to your own style?
Lexxy: That’s right. Now we are much less made up that we were a glam. Anyway style is very important for us and we always care about our look.

Suiciderock: What about your bandname? What gave you inspiration for that?
Lexxy: I was searching a name for a band and I found a porn site called naughty whispers or someting like that…

Suiciderock: What made you become a musician?
Lexxy: It’s the second thing we can do very well…

Suiciderock: Your first musical memory was?
Lexxy: Each of us started in a different way. Redox was born with AC/DC and thrash metal, me and Ashly with Mötley Crüe and Andy is the classical street rocker. A weird mix! *laughs*

Suiciderock: A while ago you supported Wednesday 13. Is there any band you would love to play with in the future?
We had a good time with Wednesday and it was also a great show. We would like to play with him again but we don’t want to keep Mötley Crüe waiting! *laughs*

Suiciderock: What does the future hold for Naughty Whisper?
We hope a good production for the new album and a great tour. So stay tuned!

Suiciderock: Famous last words?
Remember that Naughty Whisper start where the others end!
